San Luis Potosí: Home to GM and BMW Automotive Assembly Plants

San Luis Potosí Open Roads for Manufacturing

San Luis Potosí is centrally located in the El Bajio manufacturing region of Mexico. Representing one of the five fastest growing economies in Mexico, San Luis Potosí shares a border with eight Mexican states. The state’s location gives businesses access to 73 million potential customers and 78.8% of the national GDP within a 500-kilometer radius of its capital. San Luis Potosí has a booming automotive and auto parts manufacturing industry in Mexico. Automotive exports rang in at $6,424.6 million dollars in 2015; double the amount of the other manufacturing sectors in the state. There are 178 automotive and auto parts manufacturers in San Luis Potosí, with 40 additional companies about to start. This sector employs over 68,000 people.
