Medical Device Manufacturers find opportunity in Baja California

On June 13th, 2012 Tijuana hosted the 5th edition of the Baja California Medical Device Supplier Day, an event organized by the Baja Medical Device Cluster, the State Government of Baja California and Tijuana's Economic Development organizations.
The main goal of the event was to create opportunities for Medical OEMs and prospective suppliers to network and discuss further integrate the Medical Device value chain in the region and increase their global competitiveness.
The event took place at the new Avanti Mediclear, the first e-beam sterilization operation in Tijuana. Over 400 "Business to Business" meetings were held to incorporate companies with the Baja Medical Supplier Chain. The attendees enjoyed conferences by top global leaders of the Medical Device Industry and walked thru the exhibitions that showcased products and services manufactured in Baja California.
On June 12th the Tijuana Economic Development Corporation (Tijuana EDC) offered an inside look tour of top medical device operations in Tijuana where innovative medical devices are manufactured and sent directly to customers all over the world.
There are over 60 Medical Device companies in Baja California which represent more than half of the industry's presence in Mexico and have made the region a leading hub for Medical Device manufacturing with the largest dedicated workforce in North America. Baja California strategic location with immediate access to California and the West coast of the United States give it a unique competitive advantage over other Medical Device hubs.
