The State of Baja California Has the Opportunity to Leverage and Develop Local Suppliers

To meet the needs and demands of the manufacturing industry at an international level, the National Chamber of the
Transformation Industry (Canacintra) will seek to strengthen the local supply of companies so that they can enter the export market.
The counselor and leader of Canacintra's Supply Commission, Román Caso Espinosa pointed out that currently there are only 3% of national suppliers that serve the export industry, and they hope to reach a 2-digit figure in a few years.
"The manufacturing industry in Mexico has the capabilities to serve the global supply chain demands, that is why in Canacintra we have been working on the development of suppliers that meet the technical needs and certifications". He explained.
He mentioned that the lack of suppliers is due to the supply chain, constant increases in transportation costs from the Asian continent and other macroeconomic factors, all of which result in an opportunity that must be taken advantage of.
Caso Espinosa explained that Canacintra has developed a mechanism to accompany companies that have the interest, capacity, and skills to be able to join the supply of the export industry, in such a way that it would not be an activity that they would do alone, but with experts in the field.
"With this we seek that the national industry participates in the economic growth that represents the export industry and at the same time allows our country to be attractive not only for its geographical location, but also for having developed the supply at the required levels," he concluded.
