San Luis Potosí is also home to home appliance manufacturing companies and a long-standing mining industry. San Luis Potosí has 22 home appliance manufacturers (including the Mexican giant, Mabe) with an over 10,000-strong workforce, exporting products to the United States, Canada, Colombia, Chile, and Costa Rica. There are 136 mining companies in the state that are responsible for $12,400 million dollars a year in production.

According to the San Luis Potosí Secretary of Economic Development, the state is considered the third zone in the world with more logistic potential, only behind Shanghai and Dubai.
The air terminal of San Luis Potosí International Airport is being modernizing with an investment of more than 400 million pesos with a goal of serving more than 1.2 million people annually. ESTAFETA, the Mexican courier company that handles more than 25 million shipments per year, has one of its most important airfreight hubs in San Luis Potosí, with more than half of their shipments going through the state.
